Welcome to the official webpage of the Provine High School Choir Department, home of The Soul of Provine — a dynamic and passionate community of young vocalists dedicated to musical excellence, artistry, and unity. Our program nurtures creativity, discipline, and teamwork through powerful performances that inspire both our school and the greater Jackson community.
Under the direction of Ms. Urshula Patrick, the Soul of Provine Choir continues to make its mark through regional and national performances, festivals, and community events. Our mission is to empower students through the gift of music—developing not only their voices but their confidence, leadership, and lifelong love for the arts.
🎶 The Soul of Provine (Concert Choir)
The Soul of Provine serves as the premier mixed-voice ensemble of Provine High School. This group performs a diverse repertoire ranging from classical choral works and spirituals to contemporary gospel and popular selections. Members of this ensemble represent the very best of Provine’s choral tradition, consistently displaying excellence in musicianship, expression, and ensemble unity.

🎤 Men’s Ensemble
The Provine Men’s Ensemble celebrates the rich tradition of male vocal music through performances that highlight strength, brotherhood, and musical artistry. This group explores repertoire from barbershop and traditional spirituals to modern a cappella arrangements—encouraging leadership and camaraderie among young men in the arts.
🎼 Women’s Ensemble
The Provine Women’s Ensemble embodies grace, power, and harmony through performances that showcase the beauty of the treble voice. From classical choral works to soulful modern pieces, this ensemble provides a space for young women to develop confidence, unity, and artistic expression.
🎤 School Choir
The Provine School Choir is open to all students who share a passion for singing and collaboration. This ensemble provides the foundation of our choral program—introducing students to essential vocal techniques, music literacy, and performance etiquette. The School Choir performs at school functions, community events, and seasonal concerts throughout the year.
